What to include on every tree service estimate

• Property address and a short description of the job (removal, trim, stump grinding)
• Tree species and size, since that drives both price and crew/equipment needs
• Access notes — crane access, tight driveway, proximity to structures or power lines
• Line-item pricing rather than one lump total, so customers can see what they're paying for
• An expiration date on the quote (30 days is standard) and your deposit terms

Which format to use

PDF is for printing an estimate as-is or attaching it to an email exactly the way it looks here. The Word file is for editing the text or branding directly, in Word, Google Docs, or Pages, and sharing a link or attachment instead of a static file. Excel is for the line-item math: type in quantities and rates and the subtotal, tax, and total update automatically, instead of adding them up by hand.
